OK ZT-GmbH at the Madaster Kennedy Meeting: Focus on the future of circular construction
At the beginning of March, we had the opportunity to take part in the Madaster Kennedy meeting – an inspiring event with around 30 to 40 committed Kennedy partners. The focus was on exchanging ideas about innovations and the further development of the circular construction industry.
A key topic was the expansion of the Madaster platform, which will enable the separate assessment of building construction and civil engineering projects in future. This distinction is an important step towards better recording specific requirements and material cycles in civil engineering and making them more sustainable.
Another key topic was the building resource passport in conjunction with the ÖGNI tool. By linking these two systems, resource-relevant data can be recorded and evaluated even more efficiently in future. This offers considerable added value for sustainable construction projects, as it increases transparency regarding the materials used and improves the reusability of building materials.
The concept of urban mining, which is already being promoted in Germany, is particularly forward-looking. Here, digital material registers are being developed at city level in order to systematically record building materials from existing buildings and facilitate their recycling. This model could also be a valuable tool for Austria to further advance the circular economy in the construction industry.
The intensive exchange with other Madaster Kennedys was particularly valuable for us. The joint dialog shows how important networking and collaboration are in order to successfully establish circular approaches in the construction industry. We look forward to continuing along this path and actively shaping the future of sustainable construction.
